I am spending a relaxing day with my birdies (we have 6 parakeets) laying around and watching movies! I twisted my knee yesterday and don't have much other choice than to sit on the couch with it elevated so I'm trying to make the most of it. Sometimes it's fun to just have a day off but I have so much to do, this wasn't exactly the greatest time for this to happen. Aah, such is life!

On a brighter note, I have the afternoon to myself as my wonderful boyfriend is out with some friends so I get to watch girly movies! Hope you all enjoy your Saturday too!

Wednesday Wedding Finds - Something Blue

I absolutely love the items I have found this week for WWF (Wednesday Wedding Finds). The colors are gorgeous and would be beautiful for the non traditional or second wedding where white just isn't the color of choice. You get to have your something blue with style and remember, just one item can set the 'theme' of a wedding. I'm sure you're going to love these as much as I have.

Cyan embroidered Indian Silk Ring Pillow

This pillow is made with a beautiful gold threaded embroidery on Indian silk. The fabric is simply elegant. I adorned it with a gold satin ribbon across the center and a matte gold filigree centerpiece. I set it with matching colored crystals with a green studded rhinestone in the middle. Dusky gold satin ribbons are for tying the wedding bands.

Robin's Egg Blue Embroidered Silk Fleur de Lis Lavender Sachet

This is a gorgeous set of two dried lavender filled sachets. Constructed out of robin's egg blue silk dupioni embroidered with little fleur de lis and then wrapped up in luxurious double face satin ribbon.

Since I usually make my posts about other Etsy artisans, I thought I would do one for my own shop for once. It's hard to promote your own items sometimes. I feel like a child saying, "Hey, pay attention to me!" But if we don't promote ourselves, who will?

Sure, you'll get an occasional shout out on a blog, may get twittered or even put in a treasury, and these are all great ways to get some recognition. However, we should be proud of what we do and we should want to tell the whole world and not feel bad about it. After all, it takes time, patience and love to make the things we are passionate about. Although I am not getting married any time soon, (been there done that, lol) I love looking at all the pretty wedding accessories that you can find on Etsy. I've always thought that being a wedding planner would be a fun job. You get to help plan one of the biggest days of a young woman's life. How could that not be fun?
